Sunday School…a trip down memory lane

This week we’ve got the following theme:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

This little nugget from St John’s gospel takes me right back to my school days.  In our school choir we used to sing an anthem by Stainer based on these words.

We sang it so often I can still remember exactly how it goes.  You can see it for yourself with this YouTube video of St Paul’s Cathedral Choir singing it.

I have memories of friends of mine who would burst into song with this piece halfway to a lesson. And then we would all join in.

OK, so we were a bit weird.  But it was fun.
